MissionCX is one of almost 40 employers offering motivated and ambitious young people across Cumbria, opportunities to learn about leadership and careers within the county through Dream Placement 2023.
Teenagers have applied to take part in the unique programme that combines face-to-face contact with online engagement to build confidence, develop skills and offer workplace insights.
It also offers vital opportunities for MissionCX and other host partners to engage with 16-18 year olds and showcase the fantastic opportunities here in Cumbria.
On December 13th shortlisted teenagers will attend a selection event which will be held at Energus, to meet host partners for a day of interviews, business problem-solving exercises and networking.
MissionCX is one of the Cumbrian partners helping to fund the programme, organised by the Centre for Leadership Performance in collaboration with businesses and educators across Cumbria. Host partners offer a week’s Dream Placement over the February half-term break in 2023.
“We have signed up to Dream Placement for the first time. The world of work is quickly changing and we are keen to engage with young Cumbrians”. Joanne Slater, MissionCX Operations Director says of Dream Placements. “It enables us to engage in an exciting programme in which young and ambitious teenagers get a taste of the best Cumbria has to offer. We took part in this programme to develop and nurture Cumbria’s homegrown talent and future leaders, as part of our 1% pledge.”
MissionCX has the chance to work with young people, gain new ideas and perspectives and showcase the breadth of opportunities within our company. Placement students get the opportunity to see leadership in the workplace and work on a business project or challenge that delivers real value back to our organisation.
All of the young people who apply can take part in dynamic online activities and individual engagement to gain maximum benefit from the experience, in terms of personal development and new life skills.
The unique Cumbrian initiative was co-created with businesses 10 years ago to nurture and ignite the aspirations of young people across Cumbria and collaborate to attract and retain talent in the county. Since it began, more than 2,560 young people have been involved with Dream Placement.
