Last month we launched January Wellspace ‘New Year Being You’, as part of our monthly wellness initiative, to help us start the new year being happy and accepting of who we are.
More than any other day, it is New Year’s Day that makes the attainment of happiness feel more real and possible. This is the meaning of the New Year and why it is so psychologically important and significant to so many people around the world.
We wanted our January Wellness incentive to focus on acknowledging the beginning of a new year but to also encourage our workforce to be realistic in setting any new goals, and to be kind and compassionate and happy being themselves.
During January we delivered a MissionCX Internal Wellbeing Workshop. The aim of the workshop was to celebrate us all as individuals, whilst recognising our skills and talents – to celebrate our success – become aware of our focus for 2023 and define some personal objectives. The workshop was a huge success and gave our employees and senior management team some interesting perspectives, including….
- How we should be appreciative of ourselves and our contribution to the business
- The importance and value of our openness, trust and our commitment within the team, and our shared desire for success.
- A chance to celebrate our transparent and open culture.
- The value to colleagues and clients in our ability to develop a listening ear.
We came up with some great suggestions for future workshops with a view to expanding our workshops to our commissioning teams working out in the field, to empower the team and help guide us all through the many challenge and opportunities a growing SME can face, and learn techniques and skills enabling us to effectively lean into these challenges.
On a lighter note – our operations team recently enjoyed a well-deserved Spa Day at the stunning Armathwaite Hall Hotel. This is aligned to our 1% pledge, to give time (paid) back to our staff, to promote wellbeing within the workforce and a as thank you for all the hard work and commitment our employees put into the organisation.
Situated in the Lake District and dating back to the 11th century, Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa is close to Bassenthwaite Lake and Skiddaw Mountain. Making the most of the facilities, the team enjoyed the hydrotherapy pool, steam rooms, sauna and hot tubs, not to mention a celebratory glass of fizz and a sumptuous lunch!
